From Faith to Failure and Back Again.

From Faith to Failure and Back Again.

If you had to pick a man from the Bible that you quickly related to, who would you choose? I think I would pick Peter in short order. Maybe it’s because I can relate to Peter’s apparent ADHD and ability to speak before he thought things through. More than likely though, I think it would be because of the pendulum swing between Peter’s strong faith and stronger fear at times. In MMFC we often speak of Peter stepping out of the boat in great faith. Then, we remember that as…

Abraham – Putting Feet to our Faith.

Abraham – Putting Feet to our Faith.

It’s hard to talk religion too long without hearing the name Abraham come into the discussion.  Three of the world’s largest religions, Islam, Judaism, and Christianity all trace their faith back to Abraham the patriarch.  Why is this ancient father such a powerhouse?  It’s not because the guy was perfect.  That’s seen in many ways and none the least is the fact that he lied about his wife, not only once, but twice, to save his own skin. The root of this man’s success with God was based in an…

The Greater Strength

The Greater Strength

If we were to take Arnold schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, and Sylvester Stallone, and roll them all together into one guy we just might get a glimpse of who Samson was.  The boy was just big.  In reading the history of Samson in Judges 13:1-5 it’s clear that he had a great future ahead of him. He was chosen by God to lead His people and was uniquely gifted for the task.  One thing that we all have in common with Samson is that we’re all actually gifted in different ways and…

The Fear Factor.

The Fear Factor.

The thing that I find interesting about Joshua chapter one is that four times in the text the great leader of Israel is told to be strong and courageous. Why would this be such an issue? Because; apparently Joshua wasn’t very courageous at that point in time. The nation of Israel was about to head into the promise land, something they had not done before, and Joshua was charged with leading them. The possibility of fear was real. The danger. The unknown. God’s odd battle plan of marching around Jericho…

Marked Men for Christ Ministry Weekend

PAIN is a great teacher… WHY? Most of my life, the greatest GROWTH was sourced from pain in a situation and not joy. Joy is great and I want more of it, of course! When I have joy, I typically don’t change anything in my life, because I want to hang-on to joy. However, pain is the opposite and when I have pain, I want it to stop. Does our loving Father in Heaven allow pain in our lives to change us? Think about it. BIG JOY During the 2016…
