Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

What a glorious thought that the presence of Christ goes with us wherever we are gathered in His name. When we gather under the name of Jesus, we gather with Jesus. Like the two on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35), “As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them.” Luke 24:15.

That’s reason enough to start our work days and get togethers with prayer. Every time we join together in the name of Jesus, He’s right there with us, in our midst, walking alongside of us. How often we neglect that promise and just go about things on our own. Imagine how richer our conversations would be if they all started with welcoming Jesus into the discussion. Imagine how more productive our work day would be if Jesus was invited to be a part of them. Might there be less family strife if our gatherings started off with prayer?

How could you begin to practice this in your own life? Inviting, welcoming, allowing Jesus to be present with you in every interaction with others? We are so blessed to be able to have His company every time we get together. Take advantage of that tremendous gift. Emmanuel, God with us!
