Matthew 16:13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”

The world is asking who Jesus is. It is the job of the Church to show them who He is. The answer is just a few verses later, Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Matthew 16:16. Now, the world isn’t going to believe our words. I can stand on a corner and tell everyone walking by that Jesus is the Messiah and few will hear me. But if they see, through my life, that Jesus is the Messiah, they will believe.

How do you show the world that Jesus is the Son of the living God? First off, it’s not by acting like the world. When the Church acts like the world, how can unbelievers see Jesus? All they see is the same old same old of their own broken lives. It also does no good when the Church secludes itself and isolates from the world around it. How can the lost see Jesus when Christians are hiding from them. You get my point?

It is only when the Church stands in stark contrast to the world around us and shines the light and love of Jesus into the darkness that lives will be changed and souls will be won. So, stop living like the world and stop hiding who you are. Live your faith out loud for all to see and watch the world around you come to the realization of who Jesus is. He is the Christ, the Son of the living God!
