Matthew 13:45-46 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”
Imagine for a second, Jesus saying these words knowing that He was the One that would soon be giving everything He had, His very life, for us all. The people that were hearing His words had no idea what He was really saying. There are times that I still don’t understand it and many times that I don’t believe it.
When He found you, He found a treasure of great value, a pearl beyond compare. When He found you His goal became to purchase you at any price. He set His heart to accomplish this and He did it on the cross. And not begrudgingly for the Bible says that it was “For the joy set before him he endured the cross” Hebrews 12:2. When Jesus sees you, He sees one that He longs for and desires greatly to be near. His heart fills with joy. Isn’t that amazing!
“You are not your own; you were bought at a price.” 1Corinthians 6:19-20.
