Matthew 12:30 “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”

You are either for Him or you are against Him. There is no middle ground. It is relatively easy to call yourself a Christian here in the United States. You’re not going to get killed or threatened or ostracized just for using the label. But are you really “with” Jesus? Are you following Jesus, in close proximity to Him, doing what He is doing? Or is being a Christian just a label that you wear? Jesus makes it clear, if you aren’t with Him, then you are against Him.

“So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:16. God doesn’t want an empty shell. He wants a passionate person! God isn’t looking for more pretend Christians to fill the pews. He wants a heart that beats for Him, a life that is lived in Him, people that aren’t afraid or ashamed to praise Him from the rooftops. Are you hot for Jesus?

How can I be with Jesus one day and against Him the next? How can I love Him with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength in the morning and then turn my back on Him and deny Him that same afternoon? Am I alone in this struggle as I waiver back and forth? Fortunately not. And neither are you if you find yourself in this same predicament. As Paul writes, “O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!” Romans 7:24-25.

The very answer to my dilemma is the One whom I struggle to hold onto. Thank God that it isn’t up to my strength. Thank God that He is the One that is holding onto me. Therefore, I can say confidently that I am with Jesus. How about you?
