Matthew 9:28 “When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?’ ‘Yes, Lord,’ they replied.”

“Do you believe that I am able to do this?” That’s the question that Jesus had for the blind men. And that’s the question that Jesus has for you and me today. When God asks a question, He already knows the answer. Therefore, questions from God are always for our benefit and the benefit of those around us. So, do you believe that He is able to do this?

What’s your “this” today? These men were blind and wanted to see. What need do you come to Jesus with? Don’t just pass by that question. Search your heart right now. What is your blindness, your handicap, your disfunction? What is it that you would give anything to change? What burden is too much for you to carry any longer? Come to Jesus. Bring your need before Him today. With your “this” in mind, hear His question again. “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”

As I hear that question today, it is building my faith, because I do believe that Jesus is able. Acknowledging that He is able gives me hope that He will. And not just hope, but I trust that He will. How about you? What is the effect of His question on you today? Remember, He’s asking it for your benefit, not His. Good work!
