John 14:19 “Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.”

The world can not see Jesus. “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts” John 12:40. They are blind to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jesus came to give sight to the blind but the world continues to reject Him and remain in darkness. They refuse to see.

This verse speaks so clearly of how salvation is all God’s doing. It’s entirely by His grace that we are saved. We were all blind until Jesus opened our eyes. And to those whose eyes He has opened, He gives a promise. Because I live, you also will live. His life gives us life. His resurrection will one day be our resurrection. Because He lives in us, we can live out this life with purpose and passion. What an amazing promise this is! Both for now and for the life to come. Embrace it, the life Jesus has given to you. Live it out loud!

The world will not see Jesus. Their will does not allow them to admit that they are blind. But we will see Him. Those that know that they are blind will see Him. Not just in heaven. Today, tomorrow, everyday. He is here. He is active. He is visible. He is alive! Allow Jesus to open your eyes to see Him all around you. Go ahead and ask Him. He gives us His promise that we will see Him. Where have you seen Jesus lately?
