Proverbs 21:30 “There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD.”
How reassuring this verse is to me. No matter what it looks like or who is attacking, no one can defeat our God. It may look bleak. You may have all but given up. But God never loses. His ways are always victorious. Therefore, I want to always be on His side. But how can I make sure that I’m on the right side?
Jim Cymbala, pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle, said it this way. “I want to be for what God is for and against what God is against.” I think about this statement and my flesh sees conflict and enemies. But when I reflect on this statement in light of Proverbs 21:30, where else would I want to be? Of course I’m going to be for what God is for and against what He is against because He’s always right and He always wins.
Is there some area in your life today that you are tempted to shy back from doing it God’s way? Maybe you’re playing it safe. Afraid of causing any waves. You just don’t want to be labeled as a trouble maker, a Jesus freak. No matter what it is, following God’s plans and purposes wholeheartedly is always the right thing to do. I’ve read ahead and in the end, Jesus is still standing and everyone else bows their knee.
