Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Are you weary today? I am. Just tired to the core. Emotionally spent. Like Bilbo Baggins, “I feel thin, sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread.” I just want to pause for a moment and take a deep breath but I just don’t feel like I can. Just another shallow breath is all I can muster. Have you ever felt that way? Tired of carrying that burden but you don’t know how to put it down.

Our God has an answer for my weariness and yours. He says, “Come to me.” When I am tired, it is in Jesus’ arms that I will find my rest. When I feel like I can’t go any further, He says, “Come to me.” Jesus loves removing our burdens. Especially since most of those burdens were never meant for us to carry. I know that I hold onto so many things that weigh me down unnecessarily.

So here I am, Lord. I’m taking you up on your offer. I could use a little help with this burden. I find my rest in you Lord. Thanks for never turning your back on me. Thanks for always being faithful. Thanks for your unending love that keeps pouring in no matter how empty I feel. You are enough. More than enough. Thanks!
