Psalm 139:17-18 “How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.”

My wife and I have a wonderful marriage. We spend every free second together. And when we are apart, I know she is thinking of me. She texts me pictures of whatever she is doing so that I can share it with her. One of the things that my wife loves is when I get her a little item that reminds me of her because it shows her that I am thinking about her even when we are apart.

It’s pretty amazing that God thinks about us at all, let alone every moment of every day! I’m sure that if God had a cell phone, He would be texting us constantly. But he doesn’t and we don’t get those tangible reminders of how often God is thinking about us. Or do we? When I see the sunrise, it reminds me that God’s mercies are new every morning. When I see rabbits running around in the yard, it reminds me of God’s cheerful love for me. And if I really think about it, when I take a deep breath, I’m reminded that God has given me breath yet again today. Maybe God does give us tangible reminders daily of how precious we are to Him.

I go to bed tonight with your arms wrapped around me as I contemplate the totality of your love for me. And when I awake, I am still with you. You haven’t left. You’re right there with me each and every day. Thanks for thinking of me!
