Psalm 139:1 “You have searched me, LORD, and you know me.”

One of our greatest needs is to be known. The intimacy of being fully known. Nothing to hide. Not holding anything back. So close that you complete each others thoughts. Not needing to say a word when you are together because you know what the other would say before they say anything. Words like together, friendship, love, soul mate, and forever come to mind. That kind of relationship doesn’t just happen. It takes time. It takes an investment. It takes listening, asking, caring, authenticity, being intentional, perseverance, and love.

Search, chaqar in the Hebrew, means to examine intimately, to dig, to investigate thoroughly, and to explore. God know us because He has spent the time to explore every aspect of who we are. He has saved every one of our tears and can number the hairs on our head. He knit you together in your mother’s womb and knows how many breaths you have taken and how many you have left. He knows your every thought. He has gathered more thoughts about you than there are sands upon the seashore.

God wants that intimate relationship with you. He wants nothing more than to be the answer to that deep need in us to be known. Why is it so hard to remain true to this One that knows my every desire? You have searched me, Lord, and you know me, and you still love me. My heart is full of your love. How amazing you are God!
