Psalm 103:4 “[the Lord] who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,”
We’ve all been in a pit. Trapped by sin. No way out. Dirty. Whether we knew it or not, we were stuck in that pit, a grave of our own making. And God reached down into that pit and pulled us out. He rescued us and transferred us from refuse to royalty. What was the pit that the Lord redeemed you from? We have all been rescued from a pit. When was the last time you shared what God has done for you with another person? Multiply the miracle of your salvation by sharing it with others.
God took me, his enemy, and made me His son. He changed this pauper into a prince. Not because of anything that I ever did or didn’t do but because He loves me. And He loves you just the same. He has compassion on us, His creation. His love and compassion would not allow Him to sit idle and leave me in my pit. He had to find a way to get me out. So, He came down from heaven and got down into that pit with me. Then He raised me from death to life and placed my feet on solid ground.
He has redeemed what our life was to give us what our life can only be in Him. Our Lord is filled with love and compassion for you and He gives these to you as a crown. His love and compassion now given to you and me so that we can in turn give it away to others. Again, we are to multiply the gift of love and compassion until the whole world has felt it. Who have you shared His love and compassion with lately? Have you given it away or are you just holding onto it? Give it away everyday. Until He comes, let us be consumed with sharing that love and compassion with every breath!
