Psalm 103:1 “Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.”

Let this be our cry today. Praise the Lord! Does your heart burst with praise for our God? From the depths of our being we are to praise His holy name. Take a second right now and let His praises fill your heart. Ponder how wonderful He is, how worthy He is. Think of all that He had done for you. Remember His unfailing love for you. Now let your praises overflow your lips and come pouring out. Praise Him now!

How did that feel? Was it a joyful feeling or did you feel kind of weird doing it? Did it bring a smile to your face or make you feel uncomfortable? How often do you openly and outwardly praise God? Get used to it. We’ll be doing it for eternity!

Every fiber of our being wants to praise God except our will. Our bodies are made to worship God but too often we shut that down. I get too self conscious. What will people think of me? I’m afraid they won’t approve of it. We don’t worship that way here. What if I sing off key or don’t know the words?

That’s all crazy talk. Jesus said in Luke 19:40, “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” Are you going to let a rock out praise you? Our God is so worth of every ounce of worship and praise that we can muster. I love that Casting Crowns song, One More Song for You.

As long as there’s breath in me
Lord, there will always be
One more song for You
