Psalm 17:15 “As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.”

Look in the mirror. Who do you see staring back at you? What comes to mind as you look at that image in the mirror? Do you see your imperfections and flaws? Do you wish that you looked different, better? Are you satisfied with the person staring back at you?

Now for a moment, imagine the face of Jesus. What is it about Jesus that you notice as you contemplate His image? Is there some aspect of His face that captures who Jesus is to you? One day we will see Jesus face to face as Job said, “And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God;” Job 19:26. In that moment, we will know Him completely, “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” 1 Corinthians 13:12.

Til then, we press into God and abide with Him so that one day we may look in the mirror and recognize Jesus staring back at us. “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” We are image bearers. Others are to recognize us as His by our love. Who do you look like? Can others see Jesus in you? The more you stare into His loving face, the more you will reflect Him to the world around you. I can’t wait to see Jesus in you the next time we meet!
