Psalm 27:8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, LORD, I will seek.
Nothing else really matters. I mean when it comes down to it, seeking God, seeking His face each day, is what should motivate us. With every breath that we take we should be pursuing His presence. God is so good! His love is so amazing!
God’s face represents His blessing, His favor, like a father beaming over His child. We are to seek His face in the same way, as a child. Looking to Him for our approval. Looking to Him for our encouragement. He is our strength and our confidence. His love never ends and is always flowing freely to His children.
God’s face represents intimacy. “The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.” Exodus 33:11. We aren’t to seek His power. We aren’t to seek His justice. We are to seek intimacy with Him, relationship with Him. We are to seek His face.
David’s heart cry was to seek the Lord. It rose up within him urging him on. Seek His face! When his eyes cracked open at first dawn. Seek His face! When hiding in fear of attack. Seek His face! When tears flooded his pillow. Seek His face! What is the cry in your heart today? What are you seeking? Can you say, like David, Your face, Lord, I will seek?
