Psalm 34:3 “Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.”

This verse takes on special meaning when we are forced into isolation as we are these days. Yet even though we are physically separated, we are one in Christ and we join with the church around the world in worshiping the King of kings.

But sometimes I feel alone. Sometimes it seems like no one else is exalting His name. There are days that I feel like Elijah in 1 Kings 19:14, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.” Can you relate? Have you ever felt like you were alone in your faith? Like your voice was the only one left singing?

No matter how alone we feel, we are never alone. And God’s answer to us in those times when we feel like there is no one left standing is the same now as it was for Elijah, “Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.” 1 Kings 19:18.

Alone, we are but one voice, but together we are the Body of Christ, the Church triumphant, the Bride awaiting her groom. So, in this time of separation, let us glorify our God together as one. Praise God!
