Psalm 23:6 “Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”
Is this verse any less true because of the pandemic that surrounds us in these times? Does the circumstances all around nullify the message here? Has God’s goodness and love ceased following me because I am forced to stay home as people are dying all over the world? I think you see where I’m going here.
God’s goodness and love will never leave us. He is never less good or less loving towards His people. The world may scream that He’s turned His back on you. Even some within the church may question His goodness in the midst of the pain around us. But circumstances don’t change the truth of God’s Word. They never have and they never will. The promises contained in the pages of scripture are just as true now as they were when God spoke this world into existence. You can count on it.
God is good! He is. God has been good to you and I and He will continue to be good to us all. That’s part of who He is. His goodness is a guarantee that we can trust in during these difficult days. Take a second and thank God for His goodness towards you. Acknowledge His goodness once again in your life. Even today, God was good to you and I both. For one moment, push everything else back and just bask in the goodness of God towards you. His love for you never wanes, never grows cold, and never ceases. Believe it today. Hold on to it today. Share it with those you love today.
