Psalm 143:4-5 “So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed. I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done.”

With the threats and fears that surround us today, many of us can relate with David as he says that his spirit grows faint within him and his heart is dismayed. I look around at the chaos that is going on. The panic buying, the stock market falling, fear of infection all around us. It is so easy to look at the world today and become faint and weary, dismayed.

This is reality. Take a deep breath. It’s ok to be overwhelmed by it all. It’s ok if you don’t know what to do or where to turn. When your spirit grows faith within you, we can remember what God has done throughout all time. He is the same God that He was before the corona virus. He is just as powerful now as He was then. We can take courage that He loves us and is taking care of us just as surely as He was before this all started. When we loose heart, we can hold on to who God is, the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Is there a story in the Bible that stands out to you, hold onto it. Is there a verse that comforts you, believe it. Is there a promise that you need today, hold onto it. Remember what God has done for you. Remember His unfailing love for you. Let truth of who God is lift you up today. He is God! He is the Almighty. He is Lord of All! And he calls you His own. You are His. Rest in that truth tonight.
