Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
Peace is something we all need right now. That perfect shalom that only God can provide. It is so clear from this verse that the battle ground is in our minds. I know that my mind wars against that peace of God. My heart knows His peace but my mind seeks to doubt that this peace is real. It’s a constant battle to keep my mind focused and believing His promises. The world shouts its lies and confusion at me from all sides. When I choose to listen, it makes me afraid. It makes me question whether God is really good, whether He cares or not.
But God’s peace is real. It surpasses all understanding. And it can’t be taken away from you. You and I can let go of it, but it can’t be stolen from us. It is so good to rest in His peace and to focus our minds on that perfect peace. Keep it right in front of you. Find a verse, like this one, that you can hold onto. When you start to doubt, speak God’s Word over the situation. The more I saturate my mind with His Word and promises, the more peace I have. Lord, give us a steadfast mind that holds tight to your Word and promises no matter what is going on around us. We trust in your goodness, mercy, and love for us. We trust that you are all powerful and hear our cries for help. Fill our hearts with your peace. Fill us to overflowing so that we can bring your peace into this chaotic world. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
