Psalm 9:10 “Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.”

The Lord is faithful to those who trust in Him. He can not be anything but faithful. It is His nature. God will never let you or I down. He will never forget a promise that He has made. He will never go back on His Word. In the midst of the confusion around you, you can count on His faithfulness.

Our part is to trust and seek. We are to trust in His faithfulness, trust in His sovereignty, trust in His love for us. Some say that trust has to be earned. Has God earned your trust? Does He have to? God deserves our trust whether He has proven that to you or not. Because faithfulness is an innate part of God’s character, trust should be an innate part of our faith.

Our second responsibility in response to His faithfulness, is to seek Him. The word translated seek in this verse is the Hebrew word darash. Darash means, literally, to beat down or trample into a path. Because of repeated journeying to God, we create a path to the foot of the cross. A path that we sometimes run, sometimes crawl, but we know like the back of our hand. This well worn path should be clear as day to all that see your life. But if you stop making that journey for a while, the path will begin to get overgrown. It will be harder to recognize. You might get a little lost or confused along the way. If that’s you, blaze a new trail straight to Him today. Don’t turn to the left or the right. Just head straight to the foot of the cross. You will find God’s faithfulness there – every time you look!
