John 15:5 ““I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
We serve an abundant God. He never does anything half-way. He’s an all in God. Let’s look at creation for example. Look at the abundance of species that God spoke into existence. Scientists estimate that there are 10 million species of living things here on earth. Our God doesn’t go half-way. Look at the stars in the sky and know that our galaxy contains somewhere between 100 billion and 400 billion stars and the God who created all of them knows each one by name. Think of the infinite variety of colors that we see around us and how every sunset is different and unique. God’s abundance never ends!
When we remain connected to this ever abundant God, we bear abundant fruit. If you are abiding in Christ, there is the promise of much fruit. You might not see it, but it is there. You might not know how much impact you have on this world for God, but you do. When a branch is grafted into a tree, it is the root bundle of the tree that drives the process of accepting and integrating the new branch. God does all the work. We are to abide in Him. He brings it to pass. He pollinates the flower. He fertilizes the soil. He ripens the fruit. He produces the abundant harvest in our lives. No tree bears fruit overnight and neither do we. It takes time. A continual abiding in Him. But He is faithful. You will bear fruit. It’s a promise!
