Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.”

“holy and pleasing to God” – We are to be an aroma pleasing to God.

2 Corinthians 2:14-16 “But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life.”

What do you smell like? What’s the aroma of your life? Do you smell like Christ to both the saved and unsaved around you? Each day we have the choice to put on Christ, to wear His righteousness, to smell like Jesus!

Ephesians 5:1-2 “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

Just like Jesus, we are to be a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Notice who our audience is. We are to be pleasing to God! We are to be a sacrifice to God! We are to live for an audience of one and for the accolades of hearing “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Who vies for your attention? What draws you away from the single minded focus of living for God? What do you need to let go of or give up so that you might live “holy and pleasing to God”?
