2 Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.

Love covers over all wrongs! How amazing! Think about that for a second. The power of love to heal and forgive and make right. Love covers all wrongs, all sins, all offenses. Love is enough. Love is all that is needed.

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Mt. 22:36-40.

If we would grasp this truth, it would change our world. I don’t think that we get it. Not really. We argue and complain when all we need to do is love. We judge and offend when love is the answer. We hurt those that are the closest to us, we ignore the hurting around us, we are hurt by the littlest offense and where is love?

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” 1Pet. 4:8.

What does this kind love look like? It looks like Jesus! We are to love like Jesus loves. If you could sum up in a word or phrase how Jesus loves you, what would you say? For me the word is completely, Jesus loves me completely. He loves all of me with all of Him. He has loved me from before I was born and will never stop loving me. We are to love like Jesus loves. I am to love others completely. How about you? How are you to love?

“And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Col. 3:14.
