What do you hunger for? God has the answer. God is the answer. Whatever I long for, whatever has caught my attention, whatever I crave, God can fill that desire.
“He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.” Deut. 8:3. Take this verse and personalize it. Fill in what you crave or desire. “I do not live on __________ alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”
As we cry out to Him, God takes those longings and desires leads us by a straight path to a place that is safe and healthy and abundant. “They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” Ps. 107:5-9.
I can’t promise you that God will give you exactly what you desire, only that he will fill that empty place, that craving, in His way, in His timing, with something that is far better than what we could ever imagine. So, what do you hunger for? “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” Mt. 5:6.
