8 Keep to a path far from her, do not go near the door of her house, 9 lest you lose your honor to others and your dignity[fn] to one who is cruel, 10 lest strangers feast on your wealth and your toil enrich the house of another. 11 At the end of your life you will groan, when your flesh and body are spent.

I’ve seen this pattern repeated so many times as I minister to men. They go down that path to an affair only to lose their wife, their family, and all that they have worked for. Don’t go near that path! It is not worth it!

Don’t listen to the lies of the enemy that you are missing out, that there is someone better, that no one will know. There is not one true statement that is leading you towards an affair. They are all lies. What lie hooks you? What lie sinks deep within your core and twists the truth inside of you? Come against them all with the truth!

God is not holding out on you. God knows what is best for you. God’s ways are more satisfying, more enjoyable, more meaningful, more permanent, more loving. It pleases God to give to you generously. God loves you more than anyone else, always has, always will.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10. Believe it! It is the truth!
