3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.

We are not to play around with sin. Not even a hint. We shouldn’t look like sin. We shouldn’t sound like sin. It is not proper for God’s people. We are to look different, sound different, and be different. There are times in my life that I have struggled with this. I’ve struggled to fit in, to be liked, to be noticed. So, I will buy the right clothes or say the right things to be liked by the world. It makes me sad to think of the times of done this.

We are supposed to stand out from the ways of the world not try to fit in with them. People should know we are Christians by our words, our actions, our life. My wife is a genuinely kind person. Probably the kindest person I’ve ever met. She’s a real Christian. Not a prideful bone in her body. She is humble and naive and precious. It is easy to see that she is different that the world. It’s easy to tell that she is a child of God.

Why would I want to be identified with anything but Christ? Why would I want to be liked for something superficial and shallow. Be who God created you to be and don’t be ashamed of doing it differently than the world does it. Live holy. Rejoice and give thanks all the time. It is so refreshing and freeing to just be His child!

So true, I love being the REAL me in Christ, the old me was always doing hoops and hurdles , instead of grabbing the truth from the loin girdles . Those things that looked attractive are now things that abhor me. Thank you father for giving me eyes to really see. Give me Jesus!
