11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Christ has given gifts to all of us. To some, He has given the gift to equip other Christians with what they need to help them make use of the gifts given to them. If you are one that God has made an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, or teacher, I encourage you to make use of that gift. The body of Christ needs you. You’ve been given that gift to equip others, to give them what they need to go forth and accomplish the good works that God has for them. By doing so, the body of Christ is built up and strengthened.

A few years ago, God highlighted these verses to me in order to teach me that it’s not about me knowing more than you or you knowing more than me. God’s desire is that we build each other up so that we will all know Him more perfectly and that we would be united in our faith. If God shows me something, I need to share that with others. If God shows you something, you are to share it with me. Maybe you are like I was and have been sitting on that knowledge for some time. It’s time to share what God has revealed to you. Or maybe you know that He has gifted you as an evangelist but you have been keeping quiet. Don’t bury that talent any longer. He put that deposit in you and wants to see the return on His investment. There’s a purpose for it. There’s someone that needs what He has placed within you.

If someone needed a blood transfusion and you were the only one around with the same blood type, would you hold back and refuse to donate your blood? Of course not. If you saw someone about to step into a busy street, would you keep quiet? No. The body needs to be equipped, are you going to sit there and leave us empty handed?

I have come to the realization that God is constantly giving and we she should be with open hands receiving. Then give so we can have our hands open for the next thing the Lord wants to drop down. I remember in the past I would grab what the Lord gave and ran and hid it. Thinking I was lucky or I serve a stingy God. Boy was I wrong! He is a daddy of blessings. I guess I realize that more now as I am intentional to seek his kingdom first and having children now. All I want to do is bless them!
