13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Jesus made a way for us to be close to God. We were once separated from God but now we are near to Him. Near enough to hear His still small voice. Near enough to feel the warmth of His embrace. Near enough to be wrapped up in His everlasting arms of love.

I used to get condemned if I fell asleep while praying. Then I had children and realized how enjoyable it was to have my boys fall asleep in my lap. It’s ok to fall asleep in your Father’s lap on occasion. We can be that close to Him. The Spirit in us cries out Abba, Father (Gal. 4:6).

Intimacy with God is something I crave. To be in His presence and sit at His feet is heaven on earth. In His presence is fullness of joy.Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you. We may boldly approach the throne of grace seeking mercy in the time of need. Our God is that near, that available, that willing to be in relationship with us.

  • What keeps you from drawing near to God?
  • When do you feel the closest to God?
  • How can you make intimacy with God a priority today?

What keeps me from drawing close to God?

Businesses work, family of 7, a noisy mind not quiet enough to just sit and listen to God, distractions whether it be wanting to watch a movie at night , checking mobile things with friends, or playing games.

When do you feel closest to God?

When I give him something of surrender, when I step through something uncomfortable in faith, when I am able to speak life to another man from the Holy Spirit, when I serve, when I praise him in songs of worship, when I read his word and actually chew and believe on it. When I love on someone who no one seems to care about, when I act on something he tells me without delaying on it. When I pray with my family and lead them. When I cry out to share my weakness to him and ask for his strength. Thank you Jesus!

How can you make intimacy with God a priority today?

By reading this devotion, reading a chapter of his word and meditating on what I read. Praying with my wife and children.
Praising him in everything. Keeping my eyes on him and talking to him about any choices or decisions that may come up today. Include my God in EVERYTHING. PRAY, PRAY,PRAY, LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN, ACT,ACT,ACT. LOVE , LOVE,LOVE

OKAY I have to read what I wrote now and follow that today. Thank you Lord for this . You love me so much to give me this knowledge.

    In Jesus Name!
