20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Jesus is seated at God’s right hand and has been given all authority and power. Jesus is our King! Everything and everyone is under His control. That person that has been causing you problems is under Jesus’ control. That boss that just won’t promote you is under Jesus’ authority. That child that has wandered away from the faith is under Jesus’ dominion.

Jesus is our head. He is the one that makes the decisions. He’s the one that gives direction to His body. Have you been listening to the head or are you trying to take control yourself? It seems kind of futile for the foot to tell the head to step aside, it’s my turn to lead. We honor our head when we listen and obey His commands. I often hear that someone would follow God’s will if they could just figure out what it is. I believe most of us already know His will but aren’t willing to really follow through with obeying it. I know that I have been guilty of this. I ignore that still small voice because I’m wanting to hear God say what I want Him to say. How stupid I am sometimes.

Jesus is so amazing! He is all powerful and yet so gentle. He is all knowing yet so humble. He has authority over all things yet invites us to be a part of what He is doing. Be filled with Jesus today. Let your every thought be filled with Jesus. Let your every word be a praise to him who fills all things. Praise you Jesus!

Yeah it’s true . Sometimes I don’t want to hear from the Lord because I know it won’t be something that agrees with my will. I remember him asking me to humble myself and love a co worker that knew how to hit my nerve like someone scratching a chalk board. Yet I was called to love her and give her affirmation. I reluctantly did, and to my surprise she turned around. Things weren’t driving me as nuts with her. I was healed of some of my own pride and was humbled. Now I know the Lord is for me in every situation, but I have to trust and carry out in obedience what he asks of me and not question everything like a five year old. Be still and know he is God! Amen and amen! Help me father to remain humble and just listen when my mind gets too loud. Thank you Jesus
