13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

We are called to be free! Free to love as Christ demonstrated for us. Humble and others focused. That is what our freedom is for. Jesus did not buy your freedom so that you could indulge your flesh in whatever tickles your fancy. Jesus set you free to love others. Amazing!

The world would say that the greatest commandment is to love yourself. God’s ways are foolishness to the world though. God says love your neighbor, love your enemies, love your fellow Christians, love others, love your spouse, love your children, love those who have gone astray, love etc.

What if we actually did that? What if we actually loved everyone around us with humility and service? What would your world look like if you did that? Take a second and imagine what that would look like. What would your household look like? Your neighborhood? What about your church? What would work look like if that was the case? Amazing!

Go ahead and start loving those around you no matter what. After all, it’s what we have been set free to do!
