4 This matter arose because some false believers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves. 5 We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you.

Paul took a stand against false teachers that were among the crowds. He did not give in to their lies, their whims, their desires. In other words, Paul said, “No”. It seems that the church today has forgotten that it is ok to say no. The Bible contains both Law and Gospel for a reason. We need to be skilled at presenting both to the world around us.

  • Have you given in to something or someone that you should have said no to?
  • What was the result of this?
  • Where is God calling you to stand today?
  • What do you need from God to equip you to take this stand?

Go ahead and ask Him for what you need. He will give you what you need to stand strong for Him.
