3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Jesus gave himself for us. Need I say more? How awesome is that? Jesus rocks! He loves you so much that He gave everything He had to purchase you for His Father.

Repeat this to yourself, “Jesus gave himself for me!”

Let that sink in for a moment. Allow yourself to hear those words and allow the Holy Spirit to work them into your heart. What feelings come up for you?

Not only did Jesus give himself for you but He gave himself for you for a reason. He had a purpose in doing it. He was rescuing us from our sin. We have been rescued! Jesus accomplished what He came to do. He didn’t stop short of going all the way to accomplish this. He didn’t do it just to make you feel better. He didn’t do it to make things better for a day or a week. He did it so that you could be free for eternity! So why do so many Christians live like they are still in bondage?

Repeat this to yourself, “I have been rescued from ______”. You fill in the blank.

Again, allow yourself to hear those words and allow the Holy Spirit to work them into your hear. Do you believe it? You have been set free for eternity. Go forth and live with that understanding.

There is an acronym for grace that sums this up perfectly. GRACE – God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. Thank you Jesus!
