12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Why has God given you breath today? You are still alive. That means that God still has a purpose for your life. What is it? Do you know it? Are you living it out today?

I love the way Paul describes this regarding David, “Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed.” Acts 13:36. When David’s mission here on earth was complete, he died. That’s the way I want to live. I want to be in mission doing what God has for me to do until I’ve finished it all and he takes me home.

Maybe you’re stuck because you don’t have all the details figured out. Paul didn’t have the full picture either but he was being faithful to what he knew and was pressing into God for more clarity. Maybe you feel like you’ve disqualified yourself from God’s purpose for you. If anyone had reason to doubt his purpose, Paul did. Take Paul’s advice then and forget about the past and reach for what God has for you today, and tomorrow, and everyday until He takes you home.

What are you waiting for? Get busy!
