20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.

Paul is in prison. His surroundings deplorable. His future uncertain. In the midst of these circumstances, Paul is convinced that he will have sufficient courage to live out his life unashamed. He doesn’t let the trial that he is going through change his resolve to exalt the name of Jesus at all costs! Truly amazing!

What are you going through that is testing your resolve to stand firm in your convictions?

Is there something in front of you that you need courage to face?

How can you exalt Christ as you face the circumstances in your life?

Close your eyes for a second and think of Paul in prison. Remember his resolve, his passion, his single minded focus. Can you feel that the same Spirit lives in you that lived in Paul. “Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 1 Jn 4:4. Do you believe it? What is God calling you to do?

Be strong and do it friend!
