People had no trouble determining what Paul stood for. It was clear. It was plain as day. Everyone knew who Paul lived for. Wherever Paul went, whether he was preaching in the town square or shackled to a Roman guard in prison, he was about Christ. “For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” 1 Cor. 2:2. “For to me, to live is Christ” Phil 1:21. What singular focus. What profound courage. What steady resolve.
What do you stand for? Is there any question or hesitation? Is it so clear that everyone around you knows? If I asked your spouse, would they know? If I asked your kids, would they know? If I asked your extended family, would they know? If I asked your neighbors, would they know? If I asked your congregation members, would they know? If I asked those you work with, would they all know? Is your faith in Christ so clear for all to see that the local grocery clerk know it?
I want to live my life so that when I come to the end of it those around me will say, “I could see Jesus in that man”. I hope that everyone I meet will have no doubt who I belong to. “Yeah, I know Doug. He’s that Christian guy.”
So, do people know you are a Christian?
